Jack LeCompte was an exceptionally versatile drummer and percussionist,
and an overall outstanding
musician. He recorded and performed with a multitude of renowned artists such as Anita
O'Day, Les Brown Big Band, Stevie Wonder, Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, and Natalie Cole. Jack
can seen in film and television, notably 'Bird, The Charlie Parker Story','For the Boys' (Bette Midler), and 'The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno', 'The Young and the Restless'.
Jack was invited twice to record at the famed Egrem Studios, Havanah, Cuba with legendary bass-player Orlando "Cachaito" Lopez.
Jack was passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of young musicians, and was active for many years in the Los Angeles Unified School District after-school music programs. For an equal length of time, Jack played with grammy nominee Dr. Bobby Rodriguez and the Jazz Adventure, a Los Angeles based orchestra that brought live music to countless number of schools, K-12. He was also involved with the UCLA sponsored Honors Orchestra Children's Music Workshop.

Jack's versatility in many musical styles lead
to him being the drummer choice of many recording artists. However, it was jazz and
latin-jazz that has his heart.
After years of playing with well known artists, Jack LeCompte teamed up with fellow Philadelphia musicians Lou Shoch (Bass) and Larry DiTommaso (Piano), to record his first solo album, BLUE COLLAR . Lou Shoch has recorded with such artits as Dionne Warwick and Percy Mayfield, and toured extensively with Lou Rawls, The Fifth Dimension, and Barry Manilow. Pianist Larry DiTommaso is also a songwriter and has most notably co-written songs with Ralph Dino that have been recorded and performed by artists such as Jermain Jackson, Sergio Mendes, and Teddy Pendergrass.

Jack has for past five years played with the Desert Symphony Orchestra - OVATION Series in Palm Desert, California, with the major artists performing at the McCallum Theatre. He is taking the season 2015/2016 off.
